About Us
Fifth Church is a branch church of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Massachusetts. Established at the specific request of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discover and Founder of Christian Science, to serve the business district of midtown Manhattan.
Reading Room
The Reading Room of Fifth Church is located at 22 East 44th Street, street level, and is open 10am to 6pm Monday - Friday. The purpose of a Christian Science Reading Room is to provide a quiet place where the public and Christian Scientists alike can explore this healing religion discovered by its Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, in 1866. Here, the Holy Bible, together with Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures which sets forth complete instruction on how to heal as Christ Jesus taught his followers, may be studied or purchased.

- Wednesday testimony meetings (1 hr) are at 12 noon.
Music from the Aeolian-Skinner organ
Selections from the Bible and from the Christian Science textbook are read during the first part of the meeting, with the second part reserved for testimonies from members of the congregation about healings they have experienced through the application of Christian Science.
